The Walking Dead: Hyped For The New Season

I’ll admit to not being a zombie aficionado by any means. There are a few in my circle of friends and family that I would consider bonafide experts and by that I mean, zealots that go monthly (at least) to various horror and zombie conventions to meet B-movie and lesser graded horror movie “stars.” Before The Walking Dead, I used to make fun of said friends and family, but now, I think I want to join them the next time they go!

In any case, the second season of The Walking Dead begins tonight on AMC at 9PM ET and as the title says, I’m HYPED! The first season really took me by surprise by how ridiculously good it was, not because of the amazing special effects (and they are amazing and highly creepy as they should be), but the highly engaging storylines. The best part about the show is that no one is safe and everything is raw to the bone. Basically, everything that epitomizes zombiedom.

As much as I’m anticipating the second season, what I’m not liking so much is the way its 13 episodes will be split up. First of all, 13 episodes isn’t enough episodes, but I’ll gladly take the quality over quantity. Second, the season will be broken up in two with the first seven episodes airing October 16 through November 27, and the final six episodes beginning February 12. The month of December break won’t be so bad as most of us will be engaged in holiday activities, but then January comes and an emptiness will be sure to form as if a group of zombies have disemboweled us.

However, beggars can’t be choosers, as much as we’d all dive into our roles as transients. For now, check out the below sneak peek of season two of The Walking Dead:

Don’t forget to also peep the six webisodes on AMC for some backstory:

1) A New Day

2) Family Matters

3) Domestic Violence

4) Neighborly Advice

5) Step-Mother

6) Everything Dies

And if you need to get caught up on zombie kills in Season One and can prove you’re an adult to YouTube… you’re welcome:
